House Remodel Update

It has been forever since I have posted updated pictures of our remodel, so here they are.  The drywaller is coming this week and Michael is hoping to put primer on the walls this weekend *fingers crossed*.  After that they will be ready to paint.  The cabinets are in and we ordered the flooring for the kitchen last week so that should be here next week sometime.  Once we get it painted we can put the cabinets in and the appliances (which should be here the second week of April).  Then we can do the flooring and hopefully keep it moving along.  I will leave you with these pictures and will try to update Brocks room in a seperate post, his pretty much looks like what these pictures show (drywall that needs to be finished).

All things Baby

I ordered Brock's crib on Sunday and got a call Thursday that it was IN! Quicker than what I thought it would take. Here is the crib we went with:

I LOVE it, I think its even better in person. So I'm hoping to go pick it up sometime this weekend or Monday after my Dr. appointment. Once I got the call that it was in it gave me some motivation to call and get the bedding ordered. I feel like we are slacking 'first time parents' I'm sure most first timers already have all the stuff ordered and perhaps set up by now? Hopefully I'm wrong. In our defense we aren't in a hurry by any means especially when the little guys room looks like this at the moment:

It's not quite baby ready wouldn't ya say?! ha.

We'll get there, Michael has been working his butt off so I have no worries that it won't be done, I just get myself overwhelmed at times and need a good sob session thats all. :)

So Thursday I spent most of my lunch hour on the phone ordering his bedding, but I loved every second of it. Mostly because where I ordered it is out of Mobile, AL and the lady had the sweetest southern accent! I could listen to someone with a southern accent ALL DAY! I wish I had one! :) Anyways back to his bedding... Its not going to be here until the first part of April. Here's what we I went with:

Love the minky fabrics, I had originally planned on grays and creams but when I was talking to the lady on the phone she said that it was definately white and gray zigzag print. I was a little bummed but then knew I needed to put some other color in there besides just the gray, I didn't want to use white because first our water is horrible on whites and second white and a small child don't mix well. I also had planned on painting the walls gray, so the more I told her my plans we decided that it would be too much gray so we decided to add in some of the Tiffany Blue color too.  I think I may throw in some navy and lime green colors too, not sure yet though.  I liked this because if we ever have a girl its still neutral and I can throw pinks in with it. I'm excited/nervous to see how it turns out and I hope it turns out as good as the vision I have in my head!!

** Only a few more weeks till little Miss Madison is here-- I CANNOT wait! My sister only has a few weeks left and I'm so excited to meet the little one, I hope she has lots of dark hair! I may have to stop in Fairbury every night before I go home just to get my baby fix! haha- Kidding Em I won't annoy you guys that much! :)

Remodel

I know I just posted pictures a week ago of the 'remodel process' but Michael has worked really hard this week and here is how much it has changed already:

The rest of the cabinets will be ripped out in the next day or two.  I can't wait until the tearing out process is over and we can start 'rebuilding' everything.  I'm ready for the mess of old to be gone and ready for the new mess.  I know that it will be so worth it in the end, it just seems like we'll never get there!!!

House Remodel

Well, call us crazy but we are remodeling not only the babies room but the kitchen, livingroom and hallway, so pretty much everything (in my opinion).  Michael remodeled the one bathroom when he bought the house a few years ago, we just have to finish the back bathroom.  I get overwhelmed when I really sit and think about it.  I had one break down so far (crying, I blame pregnancy hormones).

We have set up a make-shift livingroom and kitchen in the basement.  Our basement isn't that bad but I think it just depresses me when I'm down there watching TV.  I was off work today and I honestly think I would have rather been at work (thank god we don't have another 3 day weekend till Memorial day and hopefully Brock will be here then or at least getting ready :) Thinking that way makes me happy.  This house better be at least 95% complete by then.

Michael is upstairs tearing out drywall as we speak, and that makes me teary-eyed, because here he's worked all day and now he is up there working his ass off still and I feel so helpless because I can't do a thing. I think I'm just an emotional mess today! ha-ha. He is seriously the greatest hubby.

We ordered the windows and doors so those should be here in a few weeks and then we can put new drywall up!  We already have the cabinets/crown molding picked out but thats a ways away before we can start putting those in.  We still have to pick out the counters, backsplash, appliances, flooring, cabinet nobs.  I think I pretty much know what I want for appliances and we know we want wood floors for the kitchen and carpet for the livingroom area, its just deciding which look we go with.  And then there's the decor and livingroom furniture.... Ahhh I'll just stop there for now, its making my head spin thinking about it! haha.  I will leave you with some pictures,  Michael had already ripped out the carpet, trim and took curtains and stuff down before I was able to get pictures.  He started yesterday while I was shopping with my Mom. So here's the best of what I got for "before" pictures..... I will warn you it IS the original kitchen and verrryy out dated, but we made it work. :)
